About Us
My name is Jen Bilik, and I’ve lived in Venice for the better part of twenty-five years. I moved there in 2000 after six years in New York City and a year and a half in Hollywood, and even though I moved away a few times (twice to Venice-adjacent Mar Vista, once to my hometown, Berkeley), I can never stay away. I started my publishing and gift business, Knock Knock, in 2002 in Venice offices, where the company thrived for 16 years, adding on additional units as needed. (I sold Knock Knock to Barnes & Noble in 2022.) My husband Brian and I moved to Berkeley in 2020 so Brian could get his doctorate to become a therapist, his longtime dream. Our plan is to spend a week per month down south. Venice has changed immensely over the last twenty-five years, to be sure, but somehow it never loses its vital, irresistible Venice-ness.
Not the world’s best picture of us, but we’re in front of our favorite sushi place in Venice, just a few blocks from the house!
